As I was reading Mel's entries, I stumbled upon an observation she had on Havaianas. Accrdg. to her it's the latest craze. People are giving it as presents. I agree. In our Kris kringle alone, about 3 people received Havaianas from their "parents". A friend of mine got a pair from another friend. But, what really struck me was her comment on people giving Havaianas to significant others. It made me think. Hmm...
Seriously, it's not a bad idea. To give Havaianas or a nice pair of slippers as a pre-engagement gift (honestly, I prefer the rock..diamond ha..) or as a symbol of everlasting love. Odd?? I just remembered the line we always use jokingly whenever we talk about love. In fact, it was Pepe who told us. It came from a Regine Velasquez flick. I'm sure you know.."Ang pag-ibig ay parang tsinelas. Kahit ilang sapatos ang nagdaan, sa huli, hahanapin mo pa rin ang tsinelas mo." How apt can this line be for the entire Havaianas as gift to significant others or some you admire?? Diva?? Pag-ibig parang tsinelas...here you are receiving/giving slippers to some who loves/likes you. Diva???
It's like runaway bride.. Where in Julia Roberts gave Richard Gere here running shoes as a symbol that she won't be running from her weddings anymore.
La lang.. just a thought..
